5 THINGS TO DO IN ICA-PERU

1. Plaza de Armas

The Plaza de Armas of this small city is one of the best spots to lunch and chill. There, will find one
of the best sopa seca of the town and deserts too. I was really surprised the last time I went. We went
to a small ice cream spot located in one of the corners of the Plaza de Armas, the place had a vintage
feeling and the  ice cream was naturel, very delicious someone would think this should be expensive.
It was one of the most natural and delicious ice creams in my life ! it cost less than a dollar per scoop!
I would totally recommend this experience.

2. Huacachina

For me,  this place is synonym of fun and relaxation! The natural desert oasis of South America
surrounded by big dunes. Being in a dune buggy is my favorite activity, this consist in climbing the
dunes with an special car. It feels like being in a roller coaster,  racing up and over the massive sand
mounds. When you are already up the hill, it is time to do sand-boarding! The board flies down
quickly and some people prefer not to do it because of the speed. After that you can relax sitting in
front of the lake or walk around it enjoying the beautiful sunsets there.

3. Paracas

It is small town located in Peru’s West coast. Here you will find the Paracas National Park, which it is
the only place where the peruvian coastal marine ecosystem is preserved. When I visited Paracas I
went to the Ballestas islands, home to sea lions, pelicans and humboldt penguins. One amazing fact
about this place is that you can find over 215 birds species. This place is a well-known tourist attraction
where you can do bird watching, fishing, diving, kayaking, and hiking. Also, it is well-known for
beaches, like El Chaco, set on sheltered Paracas Bay.

4. Lines of Nazca

People usually get in helicopters and watch them from ether. It is very  impressive to watch them
knowing the story behind them. They are so big that is difficult to things that ancient people did them.
If you like history and agent stuff it is a good place to go.

5 Top things to do in Arequipa

If you go to Peru you just can’t miss this beautiful city. Arequipa is also known as the “White City” because the city center is built with ashlar (white stone). It's a city that has deep canyons, volcanos, snow-coped mountains, great gastronomy, and more.

As in many Peruvian towns, I recommend the Plaza de Armas in this city. Built with white ashlar giving to this city a bright tone. Its surrounded by colonial churches, palm trees, and lush gardens making this place one of the greatest Plaza de Armas of Peru.

Like colonial style? Visit the Monasterio de Santa Catalina, a colonial site on the city. A town within a town, this expansive monastery is full of bright colors, flowers, and history. The chapels, bedrooms and cooking quarters provide an insight into the lives of devout Catholic nuns in the 16th century.

If you want to have the best view of the city, go visit the Yanahuara view-point. It is a 30-minute walk from the center of town if you like to walk. This viewpoint is one of the best places to go in Arequipa. You can go at noon and watch the beautiful sunset and take some pictures.

If you like hikes, here is one of the deepest canyons in the world, the Colca Canyon. The great view, the oasis, and the scenery of the majestic condors fly overhead.  will make not regret your decision of visiting it. It lasts four hours to go down and other four hours back, and if you what to go through the region it can last two or three days.

Finally, take your time to walk in the white city, explore and soak yourself in the Peruvian culture. You can go to the numerous restaurant, cafes, and bars that are in the city. Also, you can go to the central market of the city, where you will find fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, and more. You can also go to the Paseo Mercadores that is a happening pedestrian thoroughfare or pass between leafy plaza. Moreover, if you want to have additional information about the city’s history you can have a city tour too.

5 Touristic places to visit in Moquegua

Get to know the part of Peru that has big canyons, rocky formations, and deserts. Moquegua’s lands are ideal for farming and the colonial vibes that exist in the city center are incomparable. If you visit this city, you have to visit at least these five incredible places.

The Plaza de Armas has a viceregal air, surrounded by colonial and republican mansions. The fountain was built in Paris and was designed by Gustave Eiffel as Tacna. The historic center has several houses with a roof’s style called “mojinete”, typical of the colonial era. Therefore, the large houses are part of its appeal. Some of them are the Casa de Chocano, the Casa de la Flor, the Casa del Regidor Perpetuo, the Casa de las diez ventanas and others.

For this reason, one of its great attractions is its interesting and beautiful architecture. It can be appreciated in its churches, convents, and mansions. One of the most outstanding temples is the Iglesia de Santo Domingo of the 18th century. In addition, Contisuyo Museum exhibits archaeological pieces up to ten thousand years old.

The Omate Valley is located in the Western Cordillera of the Andes. You can see a great flora and fauna in the place, a variety of birds-vultures, condors, eagles-and crustaceans such as giant prawns. It also presents beautiful landscapes. It has areas to practice ecotourism as artisanal boating, trekking, and fishing.

Also, you have to try the tasty bread of Omate, made in the local hydraulic mill and its handmade wines. Finally, the landscape is really surprising, fields, fruit trees and an irregular and whimsical geography, with a volcanic soil.

The proximity of the volcano, Tixani, has caused that thermal areas are formed in certain places; One of them is Cuchumbaya. It has a good infrastructure, roofed and springs water between rocky rocks. Many people use them as healing baths against rheumatism. It has showers, toilets, dressers, five individual pools and a swimming pool.

Ilo is the most outstanding economic province of the department of Moquegua. It is one of the most important ports on the south coast. It also highlights the Glorieta, which many uses to walk in the afternoon and take incredible photos. On the other hand, there is the Naval Museum. There is also the Punta de Coles ecological nature reserve, where many travelers go to observe the marine fauna.

Also, Ilo has several beaches. Sime of the most famous are Boca de río, Puerto Ingles, Pozo de Lizas, Pocoma, Hierba Buena, Waikiki, Platanal, Jaboncillo, Trunk of gold, Bolivia de Mar and Nurses.

4 PLACES TO VISIT IN TACNA-PERU

 A place that is also called “The heroic”, Tacna city is called like this because of its background. It was taken by the Chileans for several years, but they were still loyal to Peru. This city has its own and particular beauty. Even though it does not have too many places to visit like others cities in Peru, there are some places that are worth visiting.

Tacna is 97 miles south of the city Moquegua on the Pan-American Highway, 22 miles from the Chilean

frontier and 35 miles from the international port of Arica, to which there is a railway. It is 1292 km from

Lima by road. As this is the nearest town to Chile, transport links are good. The airport is at Km 5 on the

Panamericana Sur, on the way to the border.

As all cities in Peru, the Plaza de Armas is in the center of the city. In my opinion, I this Plaza de Armas

is different to other ones, the cathedral has been designed by Eiffel and the symbol of the city, the Arca de

Los Héroes that has two huge bronze statues of the heroes Admiral Grau and Colonel Bolognesi. Also, the

bronze fountain there is said to be a duplicate of the one in the Place de la Concorde (Paris) and was also

designed by Eiffel.

This place is outside the city. It is a small town with a small plaza. Here people come to try the culinary

and to celebrate La Fiesta del Señor de Locumba every September 14th where people dance, make some

religious celebrations, artisanal fairs, and more.  

3. Llostay

If you like to swing in big waves in crystal clear water and lonely beaches this is the right place. I can

ensure this because this is the beach of my childhood. I use to go there for an entire month. A thing that

makes this beach a special place is that the rocks that are in the on the beach from little natural swimming pools Also, there is a big rock that divides one beach from the other where one called “El Toro” has bigger waves than the other. Really recommend this place.

Another set of beaches that has more variety of beaches and more places to buy things and restaurants.

Also, people go more often there because there is more housing there than Llostay.

Top 5 of the best beaches in Peru

Who does not like going to the beach? For today's blog, I will talk to you about some of the most beautiful beaches in my county. Commonly, these beaches are located in the north of the country which is nearer to Ecuador, and that means that the weather and water are warmer than the south beaches in Peru.

1.    Punta Sal

A paradisiac place where you can find peace of mind and relax. With white sands, sky-blue waters, clear sky, lush palms, and beautiful sunsets where you can enjoy luxury hotels, Peruvian seafood, fishing, diving. And if you visit between June and October, you will be able to whale watch.

2.    Mancora

If you are looking for party nights and beach days, look no further than Mancora. Here you have warm days for 360 days of the year! I am talking about one of the most popular places in South America where friends go to have fun. You will find parties seven days of the week in nightclubs, restaurants, and over 30 resorts.

3.    Miraflores

Located in the capital of Peru, Lima is one of the best districts of this city. Miraflores is a place where urban, sea bris and amazing sunsets are combined. It does not have the most beautiful beaches, but there are so many things to do there. You can take surf classes, walk or ride a bicycle around the pier, even paragliding! At night, you can go to all the fancy restaurants that are near there or to the Larcomar, a very nice shopping center with some great places to get food and drinks.

4.    Huanchaco

Do you like to surf? This is the perfect place, and if you do not, well you can find surfing teachers all over the beach. I am talking about one of the five best surf places all over the world!

5.    La Mina

A mystery beach that you will find hidden away from the Paracas Natural Reserve. You can see this place 145 miles south of Lima where you can watch a great variety of birds, fish, and mammals. This beach has sunshine all throughout the year and with its blue waters and the amazing desert behind you will find a great place to refresh.

ABOUT AMAIZINGPERU

Since this is my first post, I am introducing to you guys what kind of content will I share with you, in other words, what are you going to read through the weeks.

Let’s start with some questions that almost no one can respond with an “I do”. Who doesn’t like to travel? Who doesn’t like to know new places and cultures? Who doesn’t like to get in an airplane and spend hours and hours sitting in their buts?  None of us, I know. Most people in this world enjoy traveling, I mean there is no reason to hate traveling when is one of the best ways to vacation, relax, and explore the world.

My point is that I want you guys to get to know more about pleases where to travel in my county, the amazing PERU. This country is my favorite place in the world, just because it has such many and beautiful places to visit. I think that is hard to visit all the places that Peru offers in one regular life. Some of you must be thinking “she is only saying that because she is from there”. The answer is no. I am telling you these things because it is a highly recommended destination, not only by me. There are a lot of people that agree. I could not say these things without having proven these by myself, I have visited some of the prettiest places in Peru and I have wildness its beauty.

My family has always love to travel, but since we are a large family we could not travel together to another country. In fact, we didn’t need to. Having all these wonderful places to visit in Peru. I have been in all the regions of my country. I have traveled mostly on the coast, but I have been in the Andes and a few parts of the jungle. All of these three have their individual and different beauty.

In this blog, we will discover beautiful beaches, historical places, adventure places, and much more. You will discover them one by one and region by region. I want you to get to know not only the most known parts of Peru but, also, beautiful places that just locals know.
